Yellow Rash Guards

Because it stands out. Yellow is one of the colors the eye picks up fastest. On a mat dominated by black, it cuts through and brings energy to the session. Paired with black, it gives artwork strong contrast without looking loud when the color is controlled. It also represents progress. For children, IBJJF allows the yellow belt from 7 years old, after gray, and it is often the 1st belt color earned on the mat. A yellow rash guard marks that step.

At the gym, during open mat, grappling, and MMA, a yellow rash guard works at any age. In an IBJJF no-gi tournament, yellow does not count as an adult belt color: the rules require a black, white, or black-and-white base with at least 10% of your belt color. Every design covers the whole back and wraps around the sides and sleeves, with no empty space.

In BJJ with the gi, choose long sleeves: they protect the arms from jacket friction and don't ride up during guard passes. In no-gi and grappling, both cuts work; short sleeves leave the shoulders freer. In MMA and wrestling, short sleeves are the most common choice.

230 g/m², 4-way stretch, with flat seams: nothing rubs or gives out mid-scramble. The design is printed into the fibre, not laid on top: it won't crack or peel.

Machine wash at 30°C max, inside out, no fabric softener, and air dry (the full care guide).

In no-gi, IBJJF requires a black, white, or black-and-white base, with at least 10% in the belt colour. Check the dominant colour of the design against your tournament rules. At the club, on open mat, and in tournaments with no colour code, they work everywhere.
